Abstract

A two-dimensional sampling interpolation algorithm to efficiently reconstruct the antenna far field is developed in this work. It is based on the recent theoretical results relevant to the nonredundant field representations over curves and surfaces. The use of an ellipsoid (prolate or oblate) as modeling of the source allows the reduction of the number of required samples with respect to a spherical source modeling, when considering antennas having one or two predominant dimensions. Numerical examples assessing the efficiency and stability of the algorithm are presented.
