Fiber reinforced composite materials (FRP) are frequently used in the rehabilitation or upgrading of reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Within this context, several international guide lines on the use of FRP in civil applications [1-4], including the Italian National Research Council regulatory document recently released, have set some standards for production, design and application of these innovative materials for strengthening of RC structures. Nevertheless, some specific topics for seismic applications have to be studied more deeply. One of these is represented by the reinforcement with FRP of members subject to bending moment and axial force, because of requiring suitable FRP anchorage devices close to the beam-column joints. At the moment, the studies available in literature on this important topic are still few and they do not provide any final conclusion. In the paper, the main features of a device prototype, proposed by the authors, and the results of an experimental program will be reported. The tests are being performed at the Testing Laboratory of Material and Structures of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno.
