The transcription factor WT1 has an oncogenic role in a variety of tumors from different origins including acute lymphoblastic and myeloblastic leukemias. Here we demonstrated that WT1 is able to bind bag3 promoter and to induce bag3 transcription in myeloid leukemia. We also demonstrated that the induction of BAG3 protein is partially responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of WT1 protein.
