n this paper we present the main results of the DIOGENE project where the characteristics of Virtual Organisation for providing learning services has been identified and implemented using state of the art Web Services technologies. Moreover, we present, a possible migration path towards the Grid emphasising the advantages coming from the adoption of this technology.
