In the modern so called “knowledge society” characterized by a profound crisis the organization are more and more realizing the relevance to shift from tangible assets to intangible one for increasing their competitiveness. Information technology alone cannot provide an answer. It is important to enlarge the vision considering complex environments that integrate models, processes and technologies with organizational aspects in a more systemic approach. In this paper we present a complex system under development in the frame of the ARISTOTELE research project and analyze its results under the lens of Service Science Management Engineering+Design (SSME+D) and Viable Systems Approach (VSA) demonstrating its viability in modern knowledge intensive organizations.
