The use of Mechanically Fastening Fiber Reinforced Polymer (MF-FRP) laminates is emerging as a competitive alternative to epoxy-bonded FRP laminates for the rehabilitation of reinforced concrete (RC) members such as beams and slabs. A state-of-the-art review of the experimental research was presented in a paper at FRPRCS-10, highlighting compelling evidence of the viability and effectiveness of MF-FRP laminates. This paper provides a state-of-the-art review of the analytical and numerical research aimed at predicting the strength, the load-deformation response and the failure mode of RC members strengthened with MF-FRP laminates. The review critically compares ultimate strength models and constitutive models based on their key assumptions and formulations. It also considers the most recent results of more accurate analysis methods that include modeling of the slip between MF-FRP laminate and concrete substrate.
