Homo pamphagus. O della memoria del Moderno

ENGLISH. Alimentation is a hard metaphor for the Memory, actually for the Modern Age’s sickness of real experience and cultural heritage. Modernity, as showed by Nietzsche and Valéry, emphatizes the thrilling instead of the nourishment, the shock instead of the absorption, and pretends at the same time to capitalize the present time as the only one, the absoluert one, and to obliterate the past. The modern man is Homo duplex, as said Balzac too, but this duplicity marks the aesthetic experience and the experience at all, and we – the post-modernes, we in the post-history -, we have to recall a genealogy of the removed history of the sensorium by alimentar metaphor and to reactivate a thin think and a critical assimilation, finally a living memory of our time.

ITALIANO. Una buona metafora per descrivere della memoria è senz’altro quella alimentare, specialmente per quanto riguarda la malattia dell’esperienza e dell’eredità culturale che caratterizza la Modernità. La Modernità,. Infatti, come hanno mostrato Nietzsche e Valéry, ha privilegiato l’eccitante all’alimento, lo choc all’assorbimento, e ha preteso allo stesso tempo capitalizzare il presente come assoluto e dimenticare il passato. L’uomo moderno è così Homo Duplex, come ha diagnosticato anche Balzac, ma tale duplicità segna l’esperienza estetica e l’esperienza sensibile in generale e ci richiede – a noi, post-moderni - ci richiede di ricordarci genealogicamente della storia rimossa del sensorio e, grazie appunto alla metaforica alimentare, di riattivare un thin think, un pensare agile e un’assimilazione critica, finalmente una memoria vivente del bnostro tempo.
