This paper aims to analyze Italian and British doctorates in order to understand how they have structured as regard topics and organization of classes; in particular the analysis seeks to understand if there are any similarities or differences between the Italian and British context. After the study of 28 PhD courses (14 in Italy and 14 in UK) results show that the two countries present more differences than similarities explained by a different evolutionary process of the PhDs courses.

Abstract
