The Amalfi Coast has always represented a milestone in the European travel routes, fascinating tourists from all over the world. This paper intends to focus on the Amalfi Coast's drawings made by Escher, who stayed here and drew many views of the most famous urban aggregates. These are images in which the artist seems to want to record the data of a typical compositional language, transforming those figurations from simple snapshots travel to real graphic experiments. Those visual suggestions, so faithfully noted down in the drawings, thus become the basis for creating some of the most interesting images of his graphical repertoire.

Abstract
The Amalfi Coast has always represented a milestone in the European travel routes, fascinating tourists from all over the world. This paper intends to focus on the Amalfi Coast's drawings made by Escher, who stayed here and drew many views of the most famous urban aggregates. These are images in which the artist seems to want to record the data of a typical compositional language, transforming those figurations from simple snapshots travel to real graphic experiments. Those visual suggestions, so faithfully noted down in the drawings, thus become the basis for creating some of the most interesting images of his graphical repertoire.File in questo prodotto:
