The following project has been developed as a thesis research for an exchange program between the University of Salerno - Italy, and the National University of Córdoba - Argentina. The problems that Argentinean architectural heritage experiences, deserve our attention and a deep study to propose a new way of intervention, an action plan and a well-established methodology consenting a proper assessment of architectural assets, that represent the identity of our cities and the roots of the local culture. For these reason the main building we have studied is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Considering that Italy is a pioneer in the conservation-restoration field, we have an obligation: to apply these skills in developing an accurate methodology, complete and detailed, which includes the study of the building, its digital survey, and planning an intervention of restoration and conservation. With these goals, in first place a historical research and analysis were developed; and using the appropriate laboratory equipment belonging to the Model Lab of the School of Engineering of Salerno, the digital collection and processing of data was performed for the development of three-dimensional models of the facades. Finally, based on the principles of critical restoration and the “Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention”, a restoration project was carried out by proposing three scales of intervention on the object and its direct environment. Thus is established a methodology that is applicable in different contexts and requires only basic equipment for its development.
