The work herein presented is devoted to the evaluation of the seismic performance of MRF-EBF dual systems with particular reference to the split K-scheme and the inverted Y-scheme. In particular, in this paper, EBFs are designed by means of two design approach, i.e. Eurocode 8 (EC8) and Theory of Plastic Mechanism Control (TPMC). EC8 approach constitutes only a rough application of capacity design principles while TPMC is a rigorous approach based on kinematic theorem of plastic collapse extended to the concept of mechanism equilibrium curve allowing to assure a collapse mechanism of global type. In order to point out the different performances obtained, both push-over and Incremental Dynamic Analyses (IDA) have been carried out.

Abstract
In order to point out the different performances obtained, both push-over and Incremental Dynamic Analyses (IDA) have been carried out.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
