Abstract

The contrast in the use of operators of affirmative response between the varieties of Spanish is not very explored, although it is source of subtle differences and peculiarities. From the point of view of the teaching / learning of Spanish L2 a description of such variations may be useful. In this direction moves our paper, providing a contrast between the Argentine and the Spanish castilian microsystem of the affirmative response operators. The analysis will focus on their variation and frequency in a corpus of Argentine and Spanish radio talk shows, where the people can call the speaker in order to tell real life stories. The results show two different microsystems and a preference for certain affirmation strategies in each corpus.
