Abstract
Displaying images within Etruscan tombs is definitely part of the funerary ritual: it contributes to get over the crisis caused by the disappearance of a member of the community and, in so doing, it requires a specific visual code handled by high-ranking social groups. The several and different strategies, changing over the time, have to do with a transformation of the dead aiming to reach a new “space” without miasma and including ceremonial patterns of the aristocratic lifestyle as the symposium and the journey towards the afterworld.File in questo prodotto:
