Legal scholars have mostly focused their research on copyright of street art works, without considering the implications connected with the restoration and conservation. In this perspective, the paper analyses the application of the property rules to the art in public spaces, suggesting solutions which may offer adifferent approach which take into account the rights of the owners with those of the artists and of the public.
