This article, differently from former contributions, devoted to the description of variation of the Russian spoken in Ukraine, aims at presenting and discussing such a specific phenomenon as ‘levels of language interference’. At the same time a differentiation between a generic Russian variety of Ukraine and more specific levels of Ukrainian interference into the oral and written Russian discourse is introduced. Some important aspects of this interference being analyzed; they are based on the typical examples of speech patterns used by the average Russian-speaking Ukrainian.
