The paper discusses Henri of Ghent's doctrine of inner senses and its relation to Ibn/Sina/ Avicenna's one. The paper shows that, even if Henri of Ghent prefers to recall Aristotle's De Motu Animalium than Avicenna's De Anima (Kitab al Shifa), his point of view is undoubtedly deeply influenced by Avicenna. Nevertheless, Henrii's use of the word "intentio" is quite different from Avicenna's and this allows him to sketch a quite original and perhaps influencial psychology of emotions and inner senses.

Abstract
The paper discusses Henri of Ghent's doctrine of inner senses and its relation to Ibn/Sina/ Avicenna's one. The paper shows that, even if Henri of Ghent prefers to recall Aristotle's De Motu Animalium than Avicenna's De Anima (Kitab al Shifa), his point of view is undoubtedly deeply influenced by Avicenna. Nevertheless, Henrii's use of the word "intentio" is quite different from Avicenna's and this allows him to sketch a quite original and perhaps influencial psychology of emotions and inner senses.File in questo prodotto:
