The antenna far field (FF) pattern was determined from near field (NF) measurements over a spiral wrapping of a sphere from pole to pole. An interpolation algorithm for the electromagnetic (EM) field reconstruction over the sphere from the knowledge of a nonredundant number of samples was developed. The accuracy and stability of the formula and the effectiveness of the proposed innovative NF-FF transformation technique was assessed by numerical simulations.

Abstract
