Paper 370 Abstract The condensation of humidity on the particles surface can determine the formation of liquid bridges which increase interparticle forces significantly and leads to transition from free-flowing to cohesive behaviour. The effect of liquid bridges on powder cohesive behaviour has been studied experimentally by means of split and shear cells [1],[2] The increase of the resistance to flow for fluid dynamically suspended powders can be evaluated by means of viscometers assuming a liquidlike character of the fluidized beds. The flow equation gives the most general description of the rheological properties of fluids [3]. A technique to measure the bulk properties of aerated/fluidized materials has been developed [4].
