The paper presents some results of the research “Internet and supply chain man-agement: new organisational and managerial models” based on a survey on 1458 firms operating in Italy and having more than 50 million euros turnover. 463 firms have taken part in the research, with a 31,8% response rate. The paper provides data and insights on the nexus between the adoption of internet-based technologies, the nature characteristics of the supply chain rela-tionships and the coordination mechanisms at work, with a particular focus on the trust between supply chain partners, the use of formalization and standardi-zation mechanisms and the attitude in sharing information. Results show significant association for the three dimensions investigated and the use of the Internet, suggesting that the tools considered are particularly suitable to well-established relationships where the willingness of collaborating is high and common procedures are fixed.

Abstract
The paper presents some results of the research “Internet and supply chain man-agement: new organisational and managerial models” based on a survey on 1458 firms operating in Italy and having more than 50 million euros turnover. 463 firms have taken part in the research, with a 31,8% response rate. The paper provides data and insights on the nexus between the adoption of internet-based technologies, the nature characteristics of the supply chain rela-tionships and the coordination mechanisms at work, with a particular focus on the trust between supply chain partners, the use of formalization and standardi-zation mechanisms and the attitude in sharing information. Results show significant association for the three dimensions investigated and the use of the Internet, suggesting that the tools considered are particularly suitable to well-established relationships where the willingness of collaborating is high and common procedures are fixed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
