The paper concerns commitment decisions under Italian antitrust and consumer protection laws. The subject is analysed in the light of European law, administrative law doctrines, and national praxis and jurisprudence; Authors demonstrate that consent decisions represent a special typology of administrative law agreement, that generates obligations only for the undertakings concerned. On these basis, some problematic aspects of these regulations are investigated; particular attention is paid to effects of the decisions and to judicial protection of parties involved and third parties.
