A new and efficient method for estimating a proper number of voltage data external to the plane-polar scanning zone is proposed in this work. It relies on the nonredundant sampling representations of the electromagnetic field and makes use of the singular value decomposition method for extrapolating the outside samples. It is so possible to reduce significantly the unavoidable truncation error in the near field - far field transformation with plane-polar scanning. Some numerical tests assessing the accuracy of the technique are reported.

Abstract
A new and efficient method for estimating a proper number of voltage data external to the plane-polar scanning zone is proposed in this work. It relies on the nonredundant sampling representations of the electromagnetic field and makes use of the singular value decomposition method for extrapolating the outside samples. It is so possible to reduce significantly the unavoidable truncation error in the near field - far field transformation with plane-polar scanning. Some numerical tests assessing the accuracy of the technique are reported.File in questo prodotto:
