This paper is concerned with the connection between the affective experience of the student learning mathematics and its failure in mathematics. Following the model for the student affective profile presented in Albano&Ascione (2008), which takes into account the attitude towards mathematics construct, we present some e-learning activities aimed to move the student’s view from an instrumental one to a relational one, so to improve their success in mathematics. The presented activities would take advantages from being implemented in e-learning environment and they have been experimented at the University of Piemonte Orientale (Italy).
