This paper is concerned with the connection between the affective experience of the student learning mathematics and its failure in mathematics. In particular we present some learning activities regarding the vision of the mathematics, aimed to move the student’s vision from an instrumental one to a relational one. The learning activities have been experimented at the University of Piemonte Orientale and at the University of Salerno (Italy).
