Saggio introduttivo a "Pace e giustizia sociale"

Introduzione a saggi rilevanti per il rapporto tra impegno politico e impegno teologico, tra cui il noto "Die Kirche zwischen Ost und West". This is a selection of Barth's five texts (among them the famous "Die Deutschen und wir" and "Die Kirche zwischen Ost und West") that demonstrate the immense power of God’s word inside the society, and teach the incompatible opposition between religion and kingdom of God. “Nothing is more dangerous for the progress of the kingdom of God than a religion”. In 1948, attending the Ecumenical Conference of the Churches in Amsterdam, Barth wondered how the eschatology and the solution of the enigma of the real world could coexist. He pointed out, not only to the Christian Churches but also to the goodwill men of other religions, the aim to unify this dichotomy, considering it as an ecumenical task. According to him, it was necessary a common commitment of searching both a new ethic and the foundations on which a new “way of the just’s behaviour” could be laid.
