A Finite-Element model has been developed for simulating the behaviour of RC beams strengthened in bending by Mechanically Fastened Fiber Reinforced Polymer laminates. The model has been used for simulating experimental tests collected in a wide database presented in this paper. The numerical simulations were primarily devoted to investigate the effect of the partial interaction between concrete and FRP laminate and, then, to explore other specific aspects of the mechanical behavior, such as the cracking process RC members resulting in the well-known tension stiffening effect.

Abstract
A Finite-Element model has been developed for simulating the behaviour of RC beams strengthened in bending by Mechanically Fastened Fiber Reinforced Polymer laminates. The model has been used for simulating experimental tests collected in a wide database presented in this paper. The numerical simulations were primarily devoted to investigate the effect of the partial interaction between concrete and FRP laminate and, then, to explore other specific aspects of the mechanical behavior, such as the cracking process RC members resulting in the well-known tension stiffening effect.File in questo prodotto:
