The judicial documentation is a starting point to help reconstruct the formality of justice administration with regards to local territories. At the Abbey in Cava you can follow the various stages of justice administration since the 11th century. In this century the process was same in the surrounding areas with regards to the iter proceedings and also to people who made up the court of justice. Some independent elements are visible at the end of the 12th century in areas where the Abbey of Cava used to exert the role of territorial domination. As regards to the drawing up of instruments, also the Cava’s judicial documents have their own formalities in comparison to other documents; they are however in every stage in great part similar to local judicial documents.
