The aim of this study was to determine which attachment models prevail in married couples who choose to adopt a child. A married couple with a secure attachment, generally, decide within a short time to adopt, while a couple with a worried attachment decide to adopt in order to obtain the stereotype of a traditional family, that is with children; a couple with a distancing attachment adopt but only if persuaded by others, after a long time and only as a last resort.
