The research project developed within the scope of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between l’Università degli Studi di Salerno and the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, was aimed at deepening the knowledge for proper technical-scientific approach towards architectural survey. The procedure conducted, of ex-ante and ex-post evaluation accuracy, attempts to restore an adaptable and reversible instrumental method (even depending on available resources) based on studies in the Department of Civil Engineering of Salerno. Data collection was achieved in shorter times obtaining a high level of information in order to approximate to the real model. It is essential to consider the technological progress, mainly in the computer field, as the most influential in terms of updating the discipline of surveying and representation factor. The progress is manifested in a constant pursuit of perfection approaching metric information obtained to the reality itself; and, at the same time, becomes more communicative even for a non-specialist audience. A key support to this method is the plurality of possible applications and techniques that can be implement to maximize results, which can become an impediment if we don’t know how to use it. The following research foresees to do a proper pipeline with particular attention to the project- capturing phase (photogrammetric shots) and checking the results, giving and granting scientific completeness of the entire survey operation. However, the study has an immediate operational application it still can be improved in the future. Furthermore, to optimize processing times, the same survey recognized as an operation of knowledge requires knowledge: it’s instructive to understand the restitution mode of various software and their corresponding algorithms to acquire accurate photogrammetric shots (minimizing the possibility of repeating this phase); at the same time, knowing the detail we want to achieve and the mode to get it will enable us, in the first instance, to choose the quantity/quality of photographs necessary and the analysis of the post.
