Based on unpublished or little-known sources, the article studies the activities of Vyach's Ivanov and his ideological allies in the first seasons of the St. Petersburg Religious-Philosophical Society. In the center of several meetings of the Society was the poet's polemic with D. Merezhkovsky and V. Rozanov. The foundation of the Christian section of society is considered separately.
