This paper deals with the plane wave diffraction by a lossless dielectric/perfect conductor composite structure consisting of two adjacent acute-angled wedges sharing the edge. The structure is surrounded by free-space. High frequency solutions are obtained by using the physical optics approximation for the electric and magnetic equivalent surface currents lying on the free-space/dielectric interface and the electric surface currents located on the perfect conductor. They are easy to handle since presented in terms of the geometrical optics response of the structure and the transition function of the uniform theory of diffraction. Their use allows one to compensate the geometrical optics discontinuities and furnishes good accuracy in the evaluation of the total field.

Abstract
This paper deals with the plane wave diffraction by a lossless dielectric/perfect conductor composite structure consisting of two adjacent acute-angled wedges sharing the edge. The structure is surrounded by free-space. High frequency solutions are obtained by using the physical optics approximation for the electric and magnetic equivalent surface currents lying on the free-space/dielectric interface and the electric surface currents located on the perfect conductor. They are easy to handle since presented in terms of the geometrical optics response of the structure and the transition function of the uniform theory of diffraction. Their use allows one to compensate the geometrical optics discontinuities and furnishes good accuracy in the evaluation of the total field.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
