Music, as an intangible resource of cultural heritage is undoubtedly a clear-cut expression of a people’s identity. It not only recalls to mind extraordinary events, but above all, enables the reliving of experiences of particular places that thus remain eternal, unchangeable points of reference that are full of meaning, notwithstanding the relentless passage of time. Therefore, music through its links with a specific territory becomes a local ambassador on the one hand and on the other, enhances a visitor’s knowledge of a typical geographical environment. Given the above considerations, our paper through an antique form of music and dance: the Tammurriata, aims to illustrate the peasant-folk culture of Campania of areas such as the Lattari Mountains and the Vesuvius National Park, being an alternative form of tourism, this event enables visitors to build their own backdrop of experiences creatively, through direct contact with the host community where they become co-actors and co-creators of a unique musical event. At the same time, in their guise of drivers of local development, they encourage the participation of the indigenous community in planning other initiatives related to this particular musical event. Our study highlights the significance of keeping alive such a popular music tradition in particular by creating specific musical pathways which would prevent the loss of material and intangible values linked to local culture. At the same time, impetus would be given to the local economy in terms of integrating the tourism offer based on links with local traditions.

Abstract
At the same time, impetus would be given to the local economy in terms of integrating the tourism offer based on links with local traditions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
