The main aim of this essay is showing some of the results of a research activity and of a didactic and educational experience studying the ancient convents of the city of Salerno. These convents were once used to be real and autonomous towns, in a state of abandonment and decay for a long time, awaiting restoration and conservative renewal. This work is the result of a multidisciplinary experiment between related sectors of civil engineering and architecture area, highly skilled on this field. All of the collected data, coming either from established methodologies and more innovative techniques in the fields of survey and restoration, have been subjected to a critical interpretation in order to make explanatory graphic images, which allow a quicker and comparative lecture, providing significant advances on the field of knowledge of the architecture object of study.
