The problem of abandonment concerns many small Italian villages, often considered inadequate to present life needs or sometimes located in areas outside the economic flows that characterize greater interests in big cities. Some of these small centers are evidence of how regeneration and reuse programs can trigger a change that can revive some declining territories. The work that will be presented collects the results of some of the already developed and partly ongoing research aimed at identifying strategies for the enhancement of smaller urban realities. These aims will be sought through method, case studies and intervention hypotheses for retraining, recovery and reuse, emphasizing the historical, architectural importance, but above all of material culture, which has such heritage and therefore the related opportunities.

Abstract
The problem of abandonment concerns many small Italian villages, often considered inadequate to present life needs or sometimes located in areas outside the economic flows that characterize greater interests in big cities. Some of these small centers are evidence of how regeneration and reuse programs can trigger a change that can revive some declining territories. The work that will be presented collects the results of some of the already developed and partly ongoing research aimed at identifying strategies for the enhancement of smaller urban realities. These aims will be sought through method, case studies and intervention hypotheses for retraining, recovery and reuse, emphasizing the historical, architectural importance, but above all of material culture, which has such heritage and therefore the related opportunities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
