In 1929 Camillo Guerra, as chief engineer of the technical office of the municipality of Salerno, dedicated himself to designing the new Littorio Stadium in the city, by following the canons dictated by the national fascist party. However, the reinforced concrete use provides the designer with the opportunity to experiment with forefront structures, such as the inclined beams of the tribune of honor or the roof shelter, never built, which, with its over 15 meters overhang, has perhaps preceded the one, very similar and most famous, designed by Pier Luigi Nervi for the Berta Stadium in Florence. The degraded situation and the partial decommissioning in which the factory is nowadays requires intervention choices that, conscious of its historical value, avert the risk of speculative aims and tend, instead, to a compatible recovery and to the enhancement of its special features.

Abstract
In 1929 Camillo Guerra, as chief engineer of the technical office of the municipality of Salerno, dedicated himself to designing the new Littorio Stadium in the city, by following the canons dictated by the national fascist party. However, the reinforced concrete use provides the designer with the opportunity to experiment with forefront structures, such as the inclined beams of the tribune of honor or the roof shelter, never built, which, with its over 15 meters overhang, has perhaps preceded the one, very similar and most famous, designed by Pier Luigi Nervi for the Berta Stadium in Florence. The degraded situation and the partial decommissioning in which the factory is nowadays requires intervention choices that, conscious of its historical value, avert the risk of speculative aims and tend, instead, to a compatible recovery and to the enhancement of its special features.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
