Breakwater have been widely applied in coastal engineering disaster prevention and mitigation. Thus, for the design of breakwater and others coastal structures, the accurate estimation of wave run-up is one of the most important aspects. Empirical formulas and physical model tests are two widely methods to analyze the hydrodynamic of the wave motion. The numerical methods based on the mechanics of computational fluids (CFD) have now emerged from the research phase and provide a relatively economical way of studying the action of the waves on the structures, as well as the effects of reflection and overlay. They therefore place an intermediate level of cost and complexity between physical modelling and the application of formulae. In the paper will be discussed some new results (hydrodynamic behaviour), applying a new numerical approach to wave generation. The objective of the present work is to discuss the implementation of an active wave generating-absorbing boundary condition for a numerical model.

Abstract
The objective of the present work is to discuss the implementation of an active wave generating-absorbing boundary condition for a numerical model.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
