In the years 1444-47, Filippo Maria Visconti tried to extend for a second time his influence on the territories of Genoa. At first, Florence tried to mediate, without manifestly dissolving its deals with Filippo Maria. Later, Florence accepted the cession of Genoa to France in order to protect itself. The paper reconstructs the events through the correspondence of the Signoria of Florence. The references are mostly indirect and included in the letters sent from Florence to Venice and Milan.
