In this paper, we present the results of the analysis of Path lexicalization strategies used in Classical Latin texts compared to a 14th century Italian vulgarization. Besides pointing out the change and the continuity in Path encoding strategies occurred during the typological shift from Latin to Italian, our work also shows that the means available to each language system are not uniformly employed. From a methodological point of view, our work shows that in-depth corpusbased enquiries are necessary in order to detect which resources are really employed in usage and what their interaction dynamics are.

Abstract
In this paper, we present the results of the analysis of Path lexicalization strategies used in Classical Latin texts compared to a 14th century Italian vulgarization. Besides pointing out the change and the continuity in Path encoding strategies occurred during the typological shift from Latin to Italian, our work also shows that the means available to each language system are not uniformly employed. From a methodological point of view, our work shows that in-depth corpusbased enquiries are necessary in order to detect which resources are really employed in usage and what their interaction dynamics are.File in questo prodotto:
