This paper discusses a cost-effective technique for dynamic testing of DC-DC power supplies, based on the injection of a signal into the feedback loop of a DC-DC regulator, which makes it operating as a dynamic source or a dynamic load. The theoretical background and the practical implementation of the technique are investigated. Guidelines are provided to determine the static set-up and the bandwidth of DC-DC regulators operating in dynamic source and dynamic load modes. Examples of experimental line and load transient tests of switching and linear DC-DC power supplies are realized by means of the Texas Instruments PMLK Series BUCK, BOOST and LDO boards.

Abstract
This paper discusses a cost-effective technique for dynamic testing of DC-DC power supplies, based on the injection of a signal into the feedback loop of a DC-DC regulator, which makes it operating as a dynamic source or a dynamic load. The theoretical background and the practical implementation of the technique are investigated. Guidelines are provided to determine the static set-up and the bandwidth of DC-DC regulators operating in dynamic source and dynamic load modes. Examples of experimental line and load transient tests of switching and linear DC-DC power supplies are realized by means of the Texas Instruments PMLK Series BUCK, BOOST and LDO boards.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
