The subject of this chapter is the growing success of suprematist parties and movements in developed countries. Faced with the changes produced by globalization, the financialization of the economy and the indisputable hegemony of neoliberalism, the discontent and fears of the large social strata are increasingly attracted by parties and movements that propose neomercantilist solutions (although compatible with neoliberalism) in the economic sphere, and neo-traditionalist and securitarian measures in the social and cultural spheres. Borrowing conceptual tools from the theory of rational choice, the perspective of complexity and the hermeneutics of public discourse, we will try to show the reasons why the suprematist discourse achieves so much success against the apparently more rational proposal of the pro-system parties.

Abstract
The subject of this chapter is the growing success of suprematist parties and movements in developed countries. Faced with the changes produced by globalization, the financialization of the economy and the indisputable hegemony of neoliberalism, the discontent and fears of the large social strata are increasingly attracted by parties and movements that propose neomercantilist solutions (although compatible with neoliberalism) in the economic sphere, and neo-traditionalist and securitarian measures in the social and cultural spheres. Borrowing conceptual tools from the theory of rational choice, the perspective of complexity and the hermeneutics of public discourse, we will try to show the reasons why the suprematist discourse achieves so much success against the apparently more rational proposal of the pro-system parties.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
