The contribution aims to address fashion production as a vehicle for the social and cultural integration of foreign citizens, an aspect that could be observed by examining the relational dynamics developed in a social dressmaking shop located in the town of Castel Volturno (Caserta), an area known to be characterized by strong social distress and marginality. The creation of clothes and accessories by some immigrant women grants visibility, and at the same time tangibility, to the process of cultural hybridization resulting from the encounter between different cultures. Fashion is thus a tool to create synergy and integration between different meanings, values, representations, ways of production, traditions, and styles different.

Abstract
The contribution aims to address fashion production as a vehicle for the social and cultural integration of foreign citizens, an aspect that could be observed by examining the relational dynamics developed in a social dressmaking shop located in the town of Castel Volturno (Caserta), an area known to be characterized by strong social distress and marginality. The creation of clothes and accessories by some immigrant women grants visibility, and at the same time tangibility, to the process of cultural hybridization resulting from the encounter between different cultures. Fashion is thus a tool to create synergy and integration between different meanings, values, representations, ways of production, traditions, and styles different.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
