Since 2017 the medieval Abbey of Santa Maria de Olearia (end of the 10th century) has been the subject of a multidisciplinary project promoted by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Salerno, the Superintendency ABAP of Salerno-Avellino, other specialists on different scientific fields. This study made it possible to tackle various aspects of the site - archaeological, historical, architectural, artistic, archival, anthropological – and has also became a course of “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” (Rupestrian monasteries in Amalfi Coast: investigation methods and technologies applied to Archeology and Art History), for the 'Marini-Gioia' Institute of Amalfi. The experience allowed students to "regain possession" of the Abbey and to understand the damage caused by a shameful abandonment of the site, to become aware of what has been lost, but also of what can be done to recover a heritage of priceless historical and cultural value of one of the oldest sites on the Amalfi Coast.

Abstract
The experience allowed students to "regain possession" of the Abbey and to understand the damage caused by a shameful abandonment of the site, to become aware of what has been lost, but also of what can be done to recover a heritage of priceless historical and cultural value of one of the oldest sites on the Amalfi Coast.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
