In this paper, the environmental formation of the young engineers in the Application School of Naples during the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies is considered, with the introduction of the Agronomy in the scholastic program, and the lessons of Professor Luigi Granata. The link between theory and practice for the young engineers was also guaranteed by the important law of 1826 about the forests and their preservation. The purpose of Carlo Afan de Rivera, General Director of Bourbon administration and father of this law, was to create a specialist interested in the main problems of territories and able to preserve them with the direct control of the State.
