This entry aims to clarify the state of scalability process to promote and guarantee sustainable development in the world. Scalability refers to the entrepreneurial ability to develop a system capable of supporting the increase in demand without worsening economic performance. Therefore, we can also refer to entrepreneurial scalability to new innovative startup. There are relevant examples on the market where creativity has been important for entrepreneurial scalability: Facebook, Twitter, or McDonald’s ideas. The organization of the entry is as follows: First, the notion of scalability is introduced in the business model context. The objective of this section is to provide a background of the various concepts used generally. Second, the scalability concept is presented in terms of economic sustainable development. Third, sustainability issues are described. Finally, the insights for future research are evidenced in the last section.
