Abstract

There have been numerous attempts to resolve the apparent dualism between body and mind, presumably by joining mutually incompatible tracks. These at- tempts were formally made through the spelling, the creation of compound terms such as “psychophysical”, “psychosomatic”, mind-body, body-mind. They they have all been put forward, as a means of articulating the sense of the human being undivided. In dance, the idea of the body always has priority. The body, which is inextricably linked to dance, is a repository of life experiences: a envi- ronment for reflection and liberation, something we can draw on for help us give meaning to ourselves. Thus, was born the use of the extremely significant term embodiment, which refers to the idea of embodying, personifying, living, perceiving, knowing one’s own world through the body. And this is the matrix of the philosophy of the body or cognition incorporated, which recognizes that peo- ple live through their bodies historical and social context as human beings who think and feel, full bodied and passionate.
