This contribution focuses on Strab. XIV 1, 40 (C 647-8). Through the comparison of different sources, it aims to understand the way in which Strabo, without nominal citation, reproduces elements that can be attributed with certainty to the Aristotelian Politeiai. From this examination it seems conceivable that Strabo read at least some Politeiai or their epitomes and decontextualizes and reuses information and stories, perhaps even after some time from reading with extreme freedom. For this reason, the Geographer reports the information in a way that is quite generic and inorganic, losing the connections that characterized the Aristotelian reasoning. The examination of the texts about the foundationof Magnesia on the Maeander shows the original existence of at least three stories: the founders are respectively Magnetes of Thessaly, Cretans and Delphi. These are all colonial contingents.

Abstract
These are all colonial contingents.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
