The paper intends to focus on the data relating to the water regulation interventions documented in some contexts of pre-Roman Campania during the archaic period. The Etruscan urban sites of Pontecagnano and Fratte and the case of the Ager Campanus between Suessula and Gricignano d’Aversa will be examined. In Pontecagnano important reclamation works concern the inhabited area at the end of the 8th century BC and, later, at the end of the 6th century BC together with the foundation of new urban planning. In Fratte, an impressive drainage system was built at the end of the 6th century in the monumental area of the so-called ‘acropolis’. In the Campanian Plain, regular drains of water and agricultural subdivisions have been discovered in Suessula and Gricignano d’Aversa, aimed at the stable occupation of the countryside between the last quarter of the sixth and the first quarter of the fifth century BC.

Abstract
In the Campanian Plain, regular drains of water and agricultural subdivisions have been discovered in Suessula and Gricignano d’Aversa, aimed at the stable occupation of the countryside between the last quarter of the sixth and the first quarter of the fifth century BC.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
