The paper aims to present the parameters used in the research on roman tabernae to realize a data base. The aims to investigate these buildings from a planimetric point of view has forced us to develop a ‘taberna form’ focused to standardizing the collected data. We prepared in fact a tool which, in addition to a first part dedicated to the contextualization of archaeological data (site form) we provided for all those structural features that were deemed “archaeological indicators”, not only of the activities and practices related to the sale, but also of the presence of productive activities and of the possibility that the workshop could be also used as house of the trader/craftsman.
