Il pa(e/s)saggio dell’innovazione tecnologica: le smart street

This paper concerns the contribution of smart street to the construction of innovative energy landscapes in order to disseminate knowledge of new technologies to reduce landscape impacts and improve the social acceptability of energy interventions. Starting from the critical literature on smart cities, in order to highlight how often the problem of the landscape is overlooked, the paper illustrates some experiences of technological innovation in the use of kinetic energy in urban centres, and then argues that smart street is a sustainable development tool that meets the premises of the European Landscape Convention.
