Abstract

Villa Sora is a maritime villa built in the l century B.C. and currently in abandon along the Vesuvius coastline, one kilometre far, to the south, from the Torre del Greco harbour. The remains of VillaSora are today inserted in a landscape context that appears fragmented, not homogeneous and incoherent. The project, developed under a cooperation agreement, coordinated by Roberto Vanacore, between the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and the University of Salerno, Department of Civil Engineering, aims to make the archaeological site accessible and to protect the ruins today covered by a metallic shelter. Moreover, the project designed a wider complex of actions able to valorise not only the Villa but the entire surrounding landscape, re-establishing more coherent relationship - form a perceptive and functional point of view - between ViIla Sora and the current decomposed landscape framework.
