Urban areas are strongly influenced by anthropogenic activities and this generally determines higher levels of contamination and degradation, compared to what happens in rural areas. Often this depletion of natural resources is difficult to quantify and it is even more difficult to monetize the losses. The following progressively focuses on this problem, with the aim of outlining the state of the art of the strengths and weaknesses of the Campi Flegrei territory, chosen as a case study and the evaluation of possible solutions for mitigation and strengthening of the connections between natural and anthropogenic ecosystems, through the creation of integrated environmental modeling as a support to the formulation of sustainable urban development proposals. After a brief territorial overview of the area, the analysis of natural ecosystems follows, illustrating, on a global scale, both the benefits they offer to the community and the main pressures they are subjected to. Subsequently, attention is focused, at a greater level of detail, on anthropogenic impacts that persist in the territories of the Flegrean Peninsula, which include the Municipalities of Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida. In conclusion, the analysis converges to the development of a sustainable management proposal on a local scale, to implement eco-systemic solutions and enhance the resilience of the territories in the Municipality of Bacoli.
